We will read about, discuss, and practice proper table manners including the proper use of a napkin and each utensil. We will also discuss chewing with our lips closed, waiting for foods to be passed to us, speaking with a quiet voice, showing respect, keeping elbows off the table, and other commonly held table manners. Students will demonstrate the proper use of a napkin and each dining utensil as well as speaking with a quiet voice, waiting for food to be passed, chewing with lips closed, the avoidance of slurping and burping, and keeping elbows off the table.
Homework Offered
Practice learned concepts at each meal.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

Students should have a plate, a napkin, a cup or glass, a straw, a fork, a spoon, and a case knife with which to practice the skills presented. Plastic utensils are fine.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
