Class Experience

It's important for children to have good social skills in order to succeed. Our one-day class focuses on teaching students how to use good manners and kindness to improve their relationships with others and make new friends. Since manners and etiquette are not always taught in school, this class provides an excellent opportunity for children to learn these important skills. The class includes slides, interactive lectures, and activities to help students become more aware of when and how to use kindness and good manners in their daily lives. Using good manners is crucial for making a positive impression on others in everyday interactions.

The following topics will be covered:

*Meeting and introducing
*Good manners vs bad manners

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Michelle Shannon. I am an etiquette coach, mompreneur and author of several books about etiquette and manners. I have 3 children. I love to cook, read books, teach and shop. I teach etiquette classes for children and teens. I help make children aware of the connections between kindness and proper manners. I also help make children more comfortable in social situations by teaching them to be more aware of when and how to use proper manners.

I have worked with children for over 16 years teaching children proper manners and how to be more confident while building social skills. I work with children in a one-on-one or group setting. I create small and large events like tea parties and classes at department stores to teach girls proper manners for young ladies. I also have experience working in a classroom setting assisting with teaching children and creating lesson plans. I often visit classrooms, schools, churches and events to teach people about the importance of etiquette and proper manners. Also, I'm a homeschooling parent. My daughter is now in high school. I have been homeschooling my daughter for several years.

In my opinion, as a society we may not be doing the best job teaching children proper manners. An etiquette coach will make them aware of the rules that should be followed in today's society. I think it's important to teach our children about etiquette and proper manners so that they won't get embarrassed in social situations and to prepare them for a successful future.

I was invited to a studio in Beverly Hills where I auditioned to have my own reality show about etiquette. They decided not to go through with the show.
