Set your child up for dining success with this fun, hands-on, interactive class designed to teach children to be excellent diners! This 50-minute class includes everything from table settings to making polite conversation with others at the table. Slides, videos to demonstrate, and discussion will be used to teach the lessons. Goals include learning: • How to properly set a basic table • How to use utensils and napkin • Dining do’s and don’ts • To make polite conversation • The importance of showing gratitude and more!
Homework Offered
I encourage the children to practice the skills learned once the class has ended. This helps to reinforce the lessons learned.Assessments Offered
Grades Offered
Children will need basic table setting items for the hands-on practice (plate, drinking cup, fork, knife, spoon, and napkin). A handout will be provided. Children are encouraged to come to class with a pencil, paper and a willingness to learn and have fun!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Please note that utensils (fork, knife, and spoon) will be used to practice table settings. Nearby adult supervision may be required.
