This level 4/5 course is for students who completed three of my courses - two introductory classes and "Nihongo Challenge - Level 3." After this course, students will have sufficient knowledge to practice daily conversations in Japanese.

Description

Class Experience

This level 4 course is for the students who previously took three of my courses - “Let's speak Japanese!," “Let’s speak MORE Japanese!” and "Nihongo Challenge(日本語チャレンジ)- Challenge Level 3. In addition to all the materials covered in the previous courses, we will cover: hobby/what I like, extending invitation, making suggestions, getting around, more adjectives and more verbs in different tenses, and compound verbs.  Students will practice speaking and listening through modeling/repeating...

*Gaining more vocabulary and expression to be used in various situations.
*Gaining fluency.
*More knowledge in talking about themselves.
*Learning more verbs and adjectives to form various sentences.
*Forming various words in Hiragana and Katakana.
*Learning some basic Kanji.

I will make vocabulary practice for students.  I strongly suggest that students practice vocabulary and review the materials we cover in class.

You will need a pencil and paper.  I strongly suggest that you make flashcards to memorize vocabulary.  Please print out a booklet I will send you prior to the beginning of this course.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Students will be evaluated formatively based on their class participation.

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.

Class might use a short video clip - 5 to 8 minutes - from https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/tv/japanologyplus/.  Intent is to show the culture in action.

I will provide a booklet for the course.
