Class Experience

Can you solve the mystery and find what’s missing? In this game, learners will be shown a group of objects for a few moments. Then one (or two or more!) objects will be removed. Learners will need to look at the remaining objects and then determine what’s missing from the original set. We will start out with just a few objects to give the students an opportunity to practice observing carefully and reasoning to find the answer. Then, the number of objects will gradually increase and solving the mystery will become more challenging. Games will be played using slides and pictures as well as real objects.

Other classes available in this series: Mystery Game: What's Missing? (Round 2)

*Enrollment fee is per learner, not per household. Siblings within the class age range are welcome to participate, but they must be enrolled separately.*

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is LaChelle Rickett, but you can call me Mrs. R. :) I love to find creative ways to make learning interactive, engaging and fun. Did you know that if you make a memory with a book, you are likely to remember that book for the rest of your life? When learners have a chance to see how content areas overlap and relate to each other, the pathways created in their brains allow for better recall and long term memory. For this reason, I love to teach integrated lessons that combine a variety of interests with a good dose of fun!

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, a Psychology minor and a TESOL certification. I have taught in traditional classroom settings as well as in home education for a total of 14 years and my love for teaching and learning continues to grow with each passing year.

Since middle school, I have also had a passion for volleyball. I had the opportunity to play in both high school and college and I love everything about the game. After college, I continued to be involved in the game through coaching. I still teach volleyball skills and techniques to my own children and I look forward to teaching those skills here on Outschool.

So, whether we are learning language arts through storytelling, discovering the chemistry of ice cream, drawing in grammar class, or serving up a volleyball, we are sure to discover the joy of learning together. I can't wait to see you in my classroom!
