Students will use a familiar song to write new lyrics and create their own song!
Class experience
In this class, students will decide together which familiar song we will use to create new lyrics to. Then, they will listen to the familiar song to feel the beat and clap along. We will focus on listening to songs with the purpose of finding the tempo, beat and lyrical placement. Then, we will write song theme ideas and phrases that we want to use in the song. I've spent time in recording studios with songwriters creating songs. I also love the art of rhyme and music. I used to play the oboe and taught myself how to play the flute. I'm here to share understandings of rhythm as well as creativity with your child.
