Song-Writing Crash Course for Young Musicians
Class Experience
In this one-time class, students will learn the basics of song-writing using motives. Students will learn a simple process for creating motives and two different ways to transform them: the retrograde and repetition. ⭐New to Outschool? - Students will learn to build an 8-measure song based on motives. We will analyze a song, identifying basic patterns: motive, retrograde, and repetition.
