Hello musical friends! In this multi-day course we will continue to learn all about how to read music. Do you want to further develop your music reading skills? Join me in this class! In case we haven't met before, my name is Teacher Kate and I am so happy to have you here! I have my degree in Music Education and I have been a violinist for 24 years. Music is my life! It is so important for students to surround themselves with music at a young age. It brings creativity, joy, self esteem, and so much more! Here is a break down of our course: In this course we will: Week 1: Let's sing and find the musical alphabet Week 2: Bass Clef Week 3: Treble Clef Week 4: Read the musical alphabet on the piano (there will be a print out for this!) Week 5: The Nashville Number System for beginners Week 6: Which instrument should I begin? (let's take our music reading to the next level!) Each class will be laid out as such: -Hello song -A review from previous week -Questions about previous week’s homework -New week’s topic -Musical game -Goodbye song -Homework assignment I hope to see you there!
Learning Goals
By the end of this course, students will be able to say the musical alphabet, write the notes/letters on piano keys, and say the order of bass clef and treble clef notes!Other Details

All materials will be given by the teacher and can be printed at home! Please bring a pencil and eraser to class! :)

Hi there! I am so excited to have you stop by. My name is Teacher Kate and I believe that learning should be fun for every student no matter that age, phase, or content. I want every class to be an adventure!
I am a mom of three beautiful girls, and I currently teach a Kindergarten Prep Class to 4 and 5 year olds in Oklahoma City. In my spare time, I love watching movies with my family and crafting!
I have my degree in Music Education and I specialize in string instruments. I started playing the violin at 5 years old and in middle school I new I wanted to be a teacher.
On the Outschool platform I hope to have many classes that engage students through private lessons, music theory, music history, preschool music & movement, and so much more.
I will also have classes that bring in nature, space, animals, and preschool/kinder learning fun.
