Class Experience

Students will learn basic rhythms in music, including the number of beats that are assigned to each note. Using these numbers we will practice our addition and subtraction equations. 

During the class:
-Students will learn to write out a math equation to match the rhythm value shown.
-Students will learn to recognize a quarter note, half note, dotted half note, whole note and dotted whole note.
-Students will learn how dotted notes work using addition and subtraction.
-Students will create equations up to sums of 16.
-Students will use various materials and manipulatives to help with counting and and equations.

Supply List
Students will need a pencil and paper. The instructor will attach printable materials in the classroom just prior to the class for the students to work on during our time together.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
