Welcome to my beginner multiplication course! 

This class answers the questions: what is multiplication and how does it relate to addition?  

This is an INTRODUCTION course to single-digit multiplication, which is typically suited for 2nd to 3rd grade students.   If you have any concerns about your student being prepared for this class, please feel free to contact me for further information and clarification and I would be more than happy to chat.

I love math, and have enjoyed teaching math for 10 years in the classroom.  In this class, students will learn the basics of multiplication and how it relates to addition.  This course is an introduction to multiplication, and will build a strong foundation for future work with multiplication of single digit numbers.

Students should be experienced with addition and skip counting prior to enrolling in this class.

Students will need the following materials in class:
1. Paper & Pencil or white board & marker
2. **Second device to play Kahoot game on (tablet, iPad, phone)
 * A second device is not required but encouraged. If your learner does not have a second device, please be sure to watch the video tutorial on how to split your screen *before* class begins so that your learner will be prepared for class and can participate in the Kahoot game.  https://youtu.be/P7puPoHTbig
 
* IPAD/Tablets will not be able to split their screen using the steps above.  This class will ONLY work if you have a second device

Hello families!  

My name is Jennifer Boham and I have been teaching math for 15 years.  I hold a Florida Teaching License with certifications in Elementary Education and Middle School Math. 
 
I love helping students overcome learning blocks like frustration, self-doubt, and of course boredom.  My goal is to make sure your child feels supported in class and confident in their academic ability.  I achieve this through patience, kindness, positive encouragement and lots of FUN.

When I was a young student, I actually struggled with math!  This gives me a unique perspective and helps me reach students who are feeling frustrated.  I overcame that frustration because I realized that my mindset was the only thing in the way.  I realized that math could actually be fun!  I never would have believed that before!  Here I am, many years later, starting my 16th year of teaching math - another plot twist!  I look forward to helping your learner find joy in learning math this school year and gain the confidence that will propel them forward, helping them reach their dreams. 

My family and I live in Florida with our dogs Pepper and Dexter and our cat Junebug.  I enjoy traveling, gardening, biking, relaxing at the beach and going to Disney!
