Moving to Learn Phonics!
In this 2 week course we will use movement and association to learn letter sounds, as well as an introduction to rhyming!

During this class learners will not only use their visual and auditory senses to learn about letters and sounds, they will also learn through movement and association! What could be better for young learners with energy to spare than a class that allows and encourages them to learn through movement!. In the first session we will learn to recognize the letters A, B, C, M, S, T, and H. We will learn the sound each letter makes using an animal that begins with each letter and an associated movement. After students have learned and practiced these skills we will use them to read simple CVC words created from our list of letters. All of the CVC words each session will be rhyming words. Students will be introduced to the concept of rhyming during the first session. We will revisit this concept with new letters and CVC words in each subsequent session.

Hello! I am Ms. Jessie! I love teaching about all things science, all grade levels. I also love teaching preschool and pre-k. I have run my own preschool and taught middle school science 6th and 7th grades for 5 years. I have a masters of science in Neurology.
My classes will include interactive lessons in addition to hands on activities relating to what we just learned. For instance, simple science experiments or projects will be a part of several of my classes.
