Moving to Learn Phonics!

This class is taught in English.

, The learning goals for this class are as follows: 
-letter recognition
-introduction to phonics
-introduction to sound blending 
-using associated movements/animals to help student remember the sound each letter makes
-reading lists of CVC words
-introduction to the concept of rhyming

Parents will be sent an instructional document for each session the student attends. These documents are intended to recap what the student has learned in each session and has suggestions for practicing at home with students to reinforce student learning and retention. 

Informal assessment of each students prior learning, understanding, and retention will be used at the beginning of each session. After the last session parents will receive a brief description of the progress their learner has made over the course of the four sessions.  

1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
