In this once-a-week course, we will practice and learn the fundamental movements of beginning ballet techniques. This beginning level class is designed to develop an awareness of alignment and basic ballet vocabulary through barre practices while using a mix of classical ballet accompaniments and instrumental variations of popular hit songs for a dose of fun! This is a great class to build upon the fundamentals of ballet and build control through body awareness. This course can be retaken as often as desired to perfect the techniques.
I have been studying dance for 25 years and am a firm believer that ballet sets dancers up for success! Ballet teaches dancers control, precision, and self-discipline while providing both physical fitness and mental stimulation. I love how calming and poetic this discipline is while building confident dancers for life.
1 file available upon enrollmentDancers will need access to: • a sturdy chair/dresser/counter to use as a "barre" • a smooth surfaced floor (wood, laminate, tile, etc) Great additions: • leotard, tights, and ballet flats for ladies | t-shirt, leggings, and ballet flats for gentlemen • hair neatly pulled back away from the face
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Please ensure your dancer has a clean space that is free of distractions.
