What is your favorite color? Let’s have fun creating your own master piece based on that monochromatic (1 color) theme. Students will be asked to choose and use only their favorite color for this class. Interactive Art therapy!

Description

Class Experience

We will be learning how to create a Monochromatic painting. This class is divided into three days due to the creative process and the steps involved in completing a painting.  

For example the first day - we will discuss what even is Monochromatic painting and why that will be fun and expressive. We will make sure everyone has everything ready. We will choose our subject to be painted that day & draw it out. 

Homework will be to bring your painting supplies to the next class.

We as learners will improve in our appreciation for the arts -studying the experience that painting a monochromatic piece brings. In a society where our children are overstimulated with a million choices for everything, why not simplify. In this class - deciding on and using just 1 color for this exercise in the arts is going to be an adventure in contentment that goes beyond the paper or palette.

Gathering all supplies needed for each day 
Brainstorming, sketches, gathering of supplies, artwork presentation speech

For this class - Monochromatic Madness 
Please bring the following supplies: 

Pencil + eraser 
Drawing paper or sketchbook for ideas
Watercolor paper, mixed media paper or a small canvas 
Paint - 1 color + black & white - acrylic or watercolor, but acrylic is best. 
Plastic lid, paper plate or a small palette 🎨 
Paint brushes of choice, depending on what is to be painted. 
Cup of water for rinsing 
Paper towel

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Written report of the child’s individual achievement and verbal praise

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
