1 hour per week. I will post links to Youtube videos that explain how to play Dungeons and Dragons. I've watched all theses videos to ensure their content is appropriate. Don't worry if you are a new player I will teach you.Class Experience
Parents please read the email I send you once your learner signs up for my Dungeons and Dragons class. The email will contain important information such as the game link and my YouTube video that explains how to use roll20 that your learner must watch before they can play their first game. Thank you. Notice: This class uses the Roll20 website to play D&D. This class does not use D&D Beyond. Roll20 is not compatible with phones, tablets, iPad or Mac Computers unless you use the Chrome Browser extension so please ensure your learner has a laptop or desktop computer to use. Students will play the Dungeons and Dragons Waterdeep Dungeon of the Mad Mage campaign using a free roll20.net account. I will post a link to the specific Roll20 game for each class. We will also use Zoom to interact with each other. I will be the Dungeon Master (the person who facilitates the game and ensures fair play. During the first class I will go over the basic rules of D&D and then revisit those rules whenever necessary. As the game progresses the following topics will be taught; team work, team building, public speaking, reasoning, critical thinking, math, problem solving, research skills and much more. Learners can expect challenging situations in every session that will push them to use the skills I mentioned above. The first session will cover the basics of the game, creating a character, reading the character sheet, public speaking (each student will introduce themselves and their character. Students can jump into the adventure at anytime, therefore the following is a loose interpretation of how the sessions are organized. I will teach a little of each topic in every session. We will cover adventuring and gear, combat and actions taken. How to interact with NPCs (non player characters). How to properly conduct adventuring, combat and how to properly interact as team. How teamwork to defeat a boss. Reading and understanding character stats and researching. Critical thinking in playing the game. With all subsequent sessions your student will have fun and learn/hone many life skills. Students under the age of 13 will need to get permission from their parents to create a free roll20 account.
