Money Readiness: Learning How to Recognize and Count Coins and Dollars

In this class students will learn how to count and recognize money like pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. As well as learn the Us dollar bills like 1,5,10,20,ect dollar bills.

Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this class students will learn how to count and recognize money like pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. We will also learn the Us dollar bills like 1,5,10,20,ect dollar bills.
Students will learn what each coin and dollar looks like as well as its value. After, the student learns how to recognize the value of the currency then we will began learning how to count the coins and dollars.
We will use songs, visual prompts like worksheets, and physical play money to learn how to recognize and count throughout the class. 

Our class structure will be:
1. Greetings/ Introduction- Begin class with introductions and ice-breaker question.
2. Introduction to coins-What is worth? What does it look like ?
3. Songs related to our coin/ dollar 
4. Worksheet
5. Introduction to counting the coin
6. Game- Money War: Quick game with learning how to recognize and count the penny.

Schedule for Monday/ Wednesday Section:
1. Week of <Jan 29th>:  Pennies
2. Week of <Feb 5th>: Nickels
3. Week of <Feb 12th >:  Dimes
4. Week of <Feb 19th>: Quarters 
5. Week of <Feb 26th>: Dollar Bill

Schedule for Tuesday/Thursday Section:
1. Week of <Feb 5th>:  Pennies
2. Week of <Feb 12th>: Nickels
3. Week of <Feb 19th >:  Dimes
4. Week of <Feb 26th>: Quarters
