Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
Thank you for viewing my profile. My professional background includes a Master Gardener certification, a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin, and 18 years in the publishing industry. I’m a small business owner and self-taught investor, and have been in the stock market since 2004. I've freelanced in the publishing industry since 2002, helping to produce books in many subject areas in the sciences, medicine, history, biographies, and finance, to name only a few. When not teaching, I volunteer in my community in a number of capacities and enjoy hanging out with friends.
I teach using a modified Socratic question and answer format, engaging the students in the subject with an eye towards the development of the growing mind and ability to research and think through any future topic. I’m assisted in my work by my three cats, Morty, Kona, and Lily, all of whom are rescues. Let’s travel together on the learning journey! I look forward to learning with you. My availability hours fluctuate so please do message me if you have a request, and I'll do my best to accommodate you. I’m happy to teach your child.
