✨ small group class ✨ only 4 learners per class helps make sure everyone gets a lot of individual attention and time to ask questions or share opinions! 🇺🇸 Class Overview This class offers two formats to accommodate different learning styles and preferences: • Live Version: Engage in a more interactive experience with social discussions and a concise one-page PDF worksheet. This format is ideal for making friends with kids from various states, enhancing social skills alongside learning. • Self-Paced Version: Learn at your own pace with a pre-recorded, narrated video lesson accompanied by a comprehensive six-page PDF lesson packet for each lesson. This format is perfect for homeschool units, allowing for a flexible learning schedule. 🇺🇸 Live Class Details The live class meets twice weekly and is designed for a small group to ensure a personalized learning experience. Key points about the live class include: • Join Anytime: Each class is standalone, making it easy to join at any point without needing background information from previous weeks. • Subscription-Based: Participants can join for a single week or stay for the entire series to cover all 50 states. • Interactive Learning: Students will learn fun facts, engage in discussions, and partake in art activities focusing on drawing whimsical cats themed around the US states. 🇺🇸 About Mewnited States Class This unique class combines art, geography, and a love for cats to explore the United States. Each session focuses on: • State Facts: Discover interesting aspects such as capitals, birds, climates, landmarks, and more. • Creative Expression: Transform newfound knowledge into creative art by drawing states as cats, retaining information through the lens of silly creativity. • Engagement: Participate in a mini extension activity like a word search or word unscramble to reinforce learning. • Flexibility: Suitable for all skill levels, this class encourages creativity and learning about the US in a fun, engaging way. By the end of the course, students will have gained a deeper understanding of the United States, improved their drawing skills, and created a collection of cat-themed artworks representing each state. Join this playful educational journey and explore the US with Ms. Jes in a way that promises learning, creativity, and fun. 🇺🇸 Class Schedule The class covers two states each week, with each state featured in one of the twice-weekly meetings. This subscription-based class allows for ongoing enrollment, offering flexibility and continuous learning opportunities. Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Fine/Studio Arts from University of Wisconsin - Whitewater
I've been teaching kids for more than a decade - on Outschool since 2020 - and am a homeschooling mom of two. I have lived experience regarding my own state, and a thirst for knowledge for any that I have not visited!
I have taught the live version of Mewnited States on Outschool since 2023. I love to create fun classes in subjects that don't always seem as fun to learn. Weaving in creativity, kids can find an interest in a subject they didn't think they'd love!
