**This class discusses mental health in a basic way - i.e. this class is not designed to identify stressful things in a learners life, but rather to identify that we all have a range of emotions Class will begin with introductions and a brief discussion about what we know about mental health. We will read "The Boy With Big Feelings" and discuss what the boy experienced in the story. We will then work on a mental health activity together - which focuses on the positive ways we can talk to ourselves and each other. The activity will identify that our brain does amazing things and that both happy and sad are valuable emotions to feel. Note** This class will strictly identify all of the feelings and emotions we experience and also identify the amazing things our brains allow us to do. It does not focus on personal experiences, and the goal is not to be therapeutic in nature.
