US Grade 9 - 10
Beginner - Advanced Level
Students can come to tutoring sessions with specific questions from their homework or ask to cover a broad concept. I have 12+ years of classroom teaching experience as well as 20+ years as a private math tutor so I can come up with lessons on the spot if needed! I am a patient, cheerful, and enthusiastic teacher. We will interact via video and online whiteboard, and students will be able to see what I'm writing in real-time. ***Please note: - I do not create curriculums for students. It is up to the student and family to determine what concepts, topics, or specific questions they would like to be covered during a session. Please make sure the student is ready with specific topics/questions, worksheets from their regular math classes, or homeschooling program. - I do not cover logarithms, concepts involving e (Euler's number), imaginary numbers, or advanced series & sequences.*** Concepts Include (but are not limited to): Number Sense and Operations: Rational numbers, powers, square roots. Operations with fractions, decimals, percentages, and polynomials. Algebra: Simplifying expressions, solving linear and quadratic equations, and factoring. Graphing linear relations and quadratic functions. Solving systems of linear equations (linear systems). Working with basic functions. Measurement and Geometry: Perimeter, area, surface area, and volume of various shapes. Pythagorean theorem. Trigonometry in right-angled triangles (sine, cosine, tangent). Properties of geometric figures and analytic geometry (distance and midpoint formulas, equation of a line). Data Management: Collecting, organizing, and interpreting data. Measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode) and range. Basic probability concepts and more advanced data analysis. Financial Literacy: Budgeting, financial planning, and understanding simple and compound interest. Exploring loans, investments, and financial decision-making. If it is in the Grade 9 or Grade 10 Ontario curriculum, we can cover it! A copy of the session notes will be sent to you upon compression of the session so students can look back and reference them.

Supply List
Student should come prepared with pencils, erasers, and paper (line or graph). Having a separate scientific calculator (not on the phone) is incredibly helpful for math. Please purchase one before our meeting. They can be bought for under $20 on Amazon. Please make sure it does not have graphing features.
