This ongoing class goes over various topics and provides learners the practice they need to master basic math concepts. Each class will cover topics that will help your child build their foundation of basic math concepts. Topics include: ~ strategies for adding and subtracting ~ telling time ~ coins and money ~ shapes and basic geometry ~ skip counting and finding patterns ~ basic word problems Class Structure: Each week will consist of 3 scheduled live meetings where we will have...
Students will master foundational math concepts in order to build up for higher topics.
There will be one assignment each week for learners to do outside of class time. This may include a printable worksheet, game, creating a manipulative, etc.
- Availability of printer for manipulatives and worksheets - Counters: blocks, cubes, round counters, etc. - Pencils, crayons, other writing tools - Scissors, glue, tape
Students will be informally assessed throughout class time. More formal assessment will be done through homework assignments. Parent feedback is necessary to modify lessons and provide support. Please feel free to reach out.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students may need assistance is going on a website or completing homework assignments. We will be using scissors, glue, and other tools to create math manipulatives.
