Have fun playing in your newly made sensory bin!Assessment
I will observe each learner and assess them informally as we work together.Class Experience
Welcome! Sensory play is a great way to engage your child in learning without them even realizing it! Sensory bins help develop fine and gross motor skills, promote language development, math skills and encourage imaginative play! In this class, we will create a sensory bin using items found at home or at your local store/dollar store. Once we make our bins, we will pair the bins with my pre-made learning mats to learn foundational skills. We will start off with a meet and greet, then we'll put together our bins, discussing the different items that each child has decided to include. We will use the COLOR sorting mat and then use the MATCHING mat. (Visual discrimination and vocabulary development)
Learning Goals
Students will be learning a variety of foundational skills such as: color identification, sorting and matching.

As a public Primary Montessori teacher, I've been incorporating sensory bins into my classroom for years. There is so much learning that takes place when children are engaged in the activities that are put before them.
