Lesson 1
Story Map
Learners select a book for their book trailer project and complete a story map to summarize the stories in their books.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Storyboard
Learners make a plan for their book trailers based on their story maps.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Book Trailers
Learners create their book trailers in iMovie or other editing app. They can use drawings, images and videos found online, and/or their own self-created photos and videos.
• Learners will demonstrate comprehension by summarizing a story or book. 
• Learners will understand different shot types.
• Learners will use a storyboard to plan a sequence. 
I have taught 2nd-5th grade as a general and special education teacher and have professional filmmaking and video-editing experience. 
Homework Offered
Feedback will be provided on all materials: • Story Map • Narrative Trailer Storyboard • Final Video Trailer

Do you have a visual learner or a learner with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, or autism? No problem! As a certified special education teacher, I know how to create classes that are supportive and engaging for neurodiverse learners. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learners will need to use the iMovie app or another video editing app. iMovie is only available on Apple products, if your child needs to use a different app, I suggest using Adobe Rush. 

I can provide images for many of the books and learners may do their own search but some learners may want to shoot video too. I will provide links to image search engines that are safe for children.
