Bring Your Own Book Club (Ages 11-13)
Sara Gatilogo
Every book worm loves to talk about what they're reading. In this ongoing bookclub, you can practice your speaking skills by bringing a book to share, plus hear a new read aloud each week from one of Mrs. Sara's favorite books!
Class experience
US Grade 6 - 7
When you read a great book, you can't help but talk about it! Each week students will have the opportunity to share with their classmates about the (age appropriate) book that they are reading. Book recommendations are a great way to practice public speaking skills in an environment that is casual and fun. Summarizing is also great for boosting comprehension skills. Students will practice sharing the title and author of their book and summarizing the plot. Students will use question stems...
Students will build community around reading great books, talking about literature, and giving recommendations to each other. They will build their social skills as they practice interacting with each other in a semi-structured discussion.
Bring your favorite book of the week!
