Class Experience

In "Spanish Immersion Cooking: Disney’s Mulan - Ramen Noodle Meat & Veggie Stir Fry," students will learn how to make a yummy meal inspired by a Disney movie. Students will make a “salteado de fideos ramen con carne y verduras,” or a ramen noodle stir fry with meat and vegetables. They are then encouraged to eat it while viewing Disney’s “Mulan” in Spanish after class. Students are also encouraged to come to class dressed as a Mulan character. While we are cooking, students will practice their Spanish listening and comprehension skills as they follow the teacher’s recipe and directions. If time allows, the teacher will engage students in conversation by asking questions related to food, interests, hobbies, cooking, etc. My kitchen classroom is a safe, fun, and relaxed environment where students can feel free to ask questions and learn from their mistakes. My goal is that my students have fun while learning. ¡Nos vemos en la cocina!

*Student Skill Level: This class is immersive and will be taught completely in Spanish at an advanced/fluent speaking level. Students of all skill levels are welcome to join, but it is expected that students only speak or ask/answer questions in Spanish. Perfection is not a requirement. Making mistakes and learning from them is one of the best ways to improve language skills. If a student would prefer to ask/answer questions in the chat box, I ask that they use the best possible Spanish that they can.

*Allergy/Dietary Restrictions: This recipe can be modified to meet allergy and dietary restrictions. Please feel free to send me a message to discuss substitutions and ways your student may still be able to make this recipe!

*Please note that class time may vary depending on the number of students and how long each student may take to complete the steps.
