In this course, we will be meeting 3 times for 50 minutes for 1 week. We will be learning about chemistry principles such as density, gas, carbon dioxide, energetics, and entropy. The students will observe how all of these principles work together or separately to create a fun and safe at-home lava lamp experience. Students will be encouraged to explore the many ways that chemistry plays a vital role in understanding our environment. We will be learning about chemistry principles such as density, gas, carbon dioxide, energetics, and entropy. The students will observe how all of these principles work together or separately to create a fun and safe at-home lava lamp experience.
Homework will be assigned to learners during the first class session and will be expected to complete the homework by or before the second class session.
- Clear Plastic Water Bottle (Drinking water bottle works great!) OR One - Three Clear Cups large enough to hold at least one cup of water - Oil -Water - Food Coloring - Alka Seltzer tablets
5 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental guidance is recommended for the use of Alka Seltzer tablets and oil.
