This class begins with a discussion on 'perspective' and review real-life examples of this. Students will then be shown examples of perspective drawings, and each aspect of how these drawings are comprised, will be explained to students. The class will then be walked through (step by step) making their own perspective drawing. Breakdown of class time: -Introductions (meet & greet/ go over class rule & expectations) -Draw the perspective picture (in pencil) -Show and Share (students will have the option to share their artwork with the rest of the class) -Goodbyes *****Please read the following prior to registering***** Please note that I am not always able to check messages from parents during class time, so if you are having trouble connecting, etc, we may have to deal with the issue after the class ends. I will do my best to get back to parents as soon as I'm able to. For messages not related to technical issues, please allow up to 48 hours for me to respond, as I teach up to 6 classes a day and have a very busy home life. Your understanding is greatly appreciated. :) REFUNDS All my classes operate under the 'limited' refund policy. No shows and/or missed classes (intentionally or not), are not entitled to a refund. If you do happen to miss class, a recording of the class will be posted in the classroom after the session is completed for your reference. LATE STUDENTS If your child joins a class late, please advise I will do my best to bring the late student up to speed. However, I will not re-teach missed portions of the class. Students will have access to the class recording to view the missed portion of the class. CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS Prior to the class commencing, I will announce my class expectations which include: -keeping your audio muted throughout the duration of the class (to avoid background noise that can be distracting) -if you have a question, please raise your hand or press the 'raise hand' icon/button. -it is asked that there is no un-muting and calling out - any disrespectful behaviour will result in the student being asked to leave the class There is no discount issued for siblings and/or the registration of multiple classes.
Learning Goals
Students will gain an understanding of what 'perspective' means, and apply this towards a three dimensional drawing.

Hello, and thanks for stopping by! I invite you to read my page and discover a bit more about me & what I do here on Outschool!
—————
I’m Mrs.Holmes, and I have the best job in the world: I get to teach kids from all over the world how to draw, and connect with them through a universal love of art and fun!
I am a Certified Elementary School Teacher based out beautiful, Vancouver, Canada. I have a Bachelors Degree in both the fields of Education (with a focus on Special Education), and Psychology. I was a full-time classroom teacher for years before starting to teach on Outschool in 2020. After falling in love with the experience of teaching here, I soon after left classroom teaching all together and shifted my love for teaching, online. What I found is that I was able to take my love for teaching and inspiring children, and combine it with my own personal passion for art. I now solely teach drawing and art classes here on Outschool, and am very fulfilled with my job to do so.
I’m very intentional about inspiring my students here on Outschool, and seek to help them find confidence in themselves when creating art. It is essential and important to me that my classes here are safe and positive environments for all learners. We celebrate everyone’s efforts and abilities!
When we draw together, steps will be broken down into small steps and will be throughly explained to ensure understanding. Room will always be given for adding your own personal flare and exploring your creativity.
I hope to draw with you soon!
Mrs. Holmes

A little more about me: I am a mom to two incredible little girls, who both have the kindest hearts and love art as much as I do! I am married to a Firefighter, and am very proud of the work he does to serve others. We have a family dog named Ollie, and he is an English Bulldog! He is 7 years old, and loves to nap. I love to drink tea, do crafts, explore the outdoors, and spend time with my family ❤️
