Where in the world is Barnabas Bear? Come and join us on an adventure as we explore the adventures of Barnabas. In this Flex Class, learners will explore 4 places around the world in a fun and interactive way. This course aims to provide meaningful learning experiences for young explorers. We will use pretend play and learners are encouraged to bring their toys along, make passports for themselves and their toys and collect the passport stamps from each class. What will each week involve? Each week, learners will: ✔️ Make a country profile including colouring the flag, finding out the temperature and time. ✔️ Identify the country on both an interactive and printable map and share in the classroom. ✔️ Find out about two Science, Geography or History topics related to the country. ✔️ Stick passport stamps in passports. ✔️ Take part in a quiz in the classroom. ✔️ Ask two questions about the country in the classroom. What is taught in this course? Week 1 - A Trip to Nigeria - Deltas and Exports Week 2 - A Trip to Italy - Volcanoes and Canals Week 3 - A Trip to Denmark - Hills and Skerries Week 4 - A Trip to Russia - Climates and Endangered Species Please note, this course can be taken in additional to the Ongoing Geography and Science classes I offer. There is no overlap between the courses. This course is listed for 4-7 year olds which is KS1 in the UK. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. A flex course allows learners to cover material during a time that is convenient for them each week. Students are encouraged to check in with the teacher weekly via the Outschool classroom, which will allow for more engagement between the teacher and learner. After weekly lessons, students can collaborate with their peers by replying to the announcements and lesson postings in the Outschool classroom. Participation will include the Introduction post, discussion posts, assignments, and projects in the Classroom. This allows students to process what they are learning by collaborating with peers and the teacher. Participation in assignments allows students to practise and reinforce learning. This also provides opportunities for the teacher to gauge student learning and provide interventions if necessary. Private messages or classroom comments are usually responded to within 24 hours with the exception of Saturdays and Sundays. The videos will be available for the length of the course. This course is taught by Teacher Helen. We look forward to being part of your learning journey! Please contact us with further questions.
