Class Experience

Are you eager to learn some basic techniques for creating modern, digital illustrations on your iPad using the Procreate app? Then this class is for you! In a small group setting, students will follow along with my step-by-step demonstration to create their own Doodle illustration on top of a photograph. We’ll cover app navigation & organization; how to import photos; how to use Layers & Colors; and how to use basic Procreate tools such as the Brush tool to paint, smudge, & erase.

By the end of this one-time class, students will have the basic knowledge that they need to get started creating their own artwork using the Procreate app.

~ WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR? ~
This class was designed for students with little to no experience with using the Procreate, iPad app. No prior experience with art, drawing, or Procreate is required in order to participate in this course. Learners who have dabbled in Procreate but are looking for a refresher are also welcome.

~ AGE ~
This class is for students who are 7-10 years old. I also have a version of this intro class geared toward older students years old. Please gauge your own learner's maturity level and ability to follow instructions and keep up with the demonstration when deciding which version of this class to take.

~ CLASS BREAKDOWN ~
Prior to class, students will need to download the class resources (posted in the classroom Welcome Message) to their iPad devices. We have a lot to cover, so preparedness is important. We will begin class with quick introductions so that we can get to know each other. Learners will then follow my step-by-step guidance to draw on top of a photo to learn the Procreate app interface, tools, tricks, and more. Interaction and questions throughout the class are encouraged.

We typically only have time to complete one doodle illustration during class. However, as an optional homework assignment, learners will be given the resources to complete more doodle illustrations using the provided class resource photos to reinforce the techniques learned.

*Please check the Supply List below before enrolling.*

I can’t wait to see you in class!

Hello!—I'm Erin, and I am so excited to teach you something new! I have 4 years of experience as a K-12 art teacher, but when I had my first child, I decided to take a crack at earning an income from home. I've now been working for myself earning a full-time income as a graphic artist and YouTube content creator & influencer for the past 5 years. Since going into business for myself, I've developed so many great skills in running my own YouTube and digital art businesses, and I'm excited to pass this knowledge on to young learners.

I teach classes on the skills I use every day to run my online business: graphic design, creating branding and marketing assets in Canva, how to create a successful YouTube channel, how to edit videos, and how to create beautiful digital art.

My favorite things to do include curling up on the couch and drawing while watching a movie with my cat and enjoying a day at the beach with my family.

I can't wait to see you in my class!
