In this one-time class, learners will use their imaginations to dance the story of Cinderella. Dancers will learn ballet foundations and play a fun dance game based on the story.

In this class, we will tell the story of Cinderella and learn some ballet dance moves. We will even play a “clock" dance game based on the story! No previous dancing experience is required. Please wear comfortable clothing and have a water bottle nearby during the class. Your child can dress up for the class if they like! Beginner Ballet Dance with Miss Jamie // CLASS STRUCTURE // We will start class with short introductions and your dancer can choose the color for their glass slippers. Then, dancers can follow along as we do a warm up and imagine we are Cinderella. Next, we will practice foundational ballet moves and stretches as Cinderella prepares for the ball. We will continue the story by making a wish and trying out our new dress and shoes with some across the floor movements. Your child can show the class their favorite dance movement. Then, we will go to the ball and play a dance game based on the clock. At the end of the class we will do a cool down and stretch and try on a glass slipper! I can’t wait to retell this famous fairytale through dance! *This class will NOT use music from the film. I am only allowed to use copyright free music due to Australian music streaming laws.* **Your child can color in the attached printable coloring sheet before or after class.** // MUTING // I will mute your child when music is playing so there is no strange audio feedback. I may need to mute your learner at other times if there is any background noise. Your child can unmute themself to ask questions at the start and end of the class or during water breaks. Please be aware that they may need some help. They will have to accept the “unmute” on their screen. //ON SCREEN SAFETY// Only the registered learner is allowed to be on screen as per the Outschool safety policy. Caregivers, older/younger siblings and adults should try to stay off the screen as much as possible for the learners’ safety. If you need to help your child with the mute or unmute button, please try to stay off to the side. //SIBLINGS// Enrolled siblings are allowed to share a screen as long as they are both registered for the class in order to be fair to the other learners. //REFUNDS AND TRANSFERS// This class follows Outschool's limited refund policy: "Full refund within 24 hours of purchase or up to a week in advance of the class." If you need to transfer BEFORE the class starts, please send me a transfer request and I will do my best to accommodate it. **I teach from Australia so please check the time carefully (AM OR PM) when signing up. I do not give refunds for missed classes.**
Learning Goals
Dancers will learn age appropriate ballet fundamentals (1st and 2nd positions, plies, chasses, gallops) while using their imaginations to retell the story of Cinderella. Dancers will improve their balance, flexibility, coordination and musicality.

Parental Guidance
Please provide a space that has enough space for your child to dance safely. Your dancer should wear comfortable clothing and have a water bottle nearby. Please mention any injuries prior to the class so I can modify the moves as needed.
Zoom muting/unmuting: I will mute students during dancing so everyone can hear the music and my voice. Your child can unmute themself to ask questions at the start and end of the class or during water breaks, so please be aware that they may need some help. They will have to accept the “unmute” on their screen.
