Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Beginner Level
You’re invited to bring your playdough to a really fun playtime. Here's our routine:

1. Start with a show and tell. Everyone is invited to bring something special to share with the class each week.

2. Warm up fingers and hands with a fun musical "dance with your playdough" activity.

3. Practice making simple shapes, lines and learn basic techniques.

4. Free Play: Learners can design anything they like out of their dough. Each week we will center our play around a new theme. However, children are free to play along however they like. We play, chat, and have lots of fun while interacting with each other during our playtime.

5. Take turns sharing one final playdough creation and say goodbyes.

Notes:
I use a second camera to model making shapes and designs so everyone can follow along with a close up look. Imagination and creativity are highly encouraged. Everyone gets turns being spotlighted to share their creations.

Students will need to bring play dough of any colors to the lesson. Feel free to bring playdough tools and small toys to incorporate into your play. I will post a recipe in the classroom if you would like to make your own playdough.

Drop-ins and enrolled siblings are always welcome to join in the fun.

Learning Goals
Playing with playdough is an excellent sensory activity for children. In addition to building hand and finger strength, learners will also be able to explore their imaginations by creating something new each week. Learners will also practice sharing and listening with show and tell time and during playtime.

I am so excited for the opportunity to bring creative, energetic and meaningful lessons to the learners on Outschool. I am a certified school teacher, and I have classroom experience in both public and private schools. Currently, I work exclusively teaching online while homeschooling my own children. As a homeschooling family, we love to spend time together traveling when possible, and enjoying the great outdoors at our country home with our animals.

The classes I offer are full of fun activities that engage the students while they are learning. I love teaching with a theme that captivates the interests of learners. All of the classes that I offer are designed for learners in the 3-7 years old age range. My specialties include circle time, playdough playtime, alphabet mini classes and beginning level language arts.

It is my goal to give every student time to shine in all of my classes. Everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the lesson. This helps build important social skills, make friends and also feel important, valued and special. I look forward to seeing you soon in one of my very fun, interactive child-friendly classes soon!
