Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Sculpting Medium (any brand/type you prefer. I like to use Sculpey Polymer Clay). *A little clay goes a LONG way in miniature sculpting! Basic Sculpting tools, toothpick, smoothing tool, dotting tool (for eye sockets) A cutting tool (clay knife, anything that you are comfortable with using) A non stick surface to work on (You can cover a piece of cardboard with parchment paper and tape it to the bottom…that works) A small rolling pin A wooden toothpick or small piece of sculpting/jewelry wire Aluminum Foil for gift box (2 6”x6” cut pieces) Variety of colors of clay (whatever colors you want for your sculptures: I used Red, Yellow, Green, Lighter green) OPTIONAL: If using baked clay: Clear Water based gloss glaze for after baking (I use Sculpey Gloss Glaze). I will go over how to lacquer the clay after baking if the students want a professional, glossy finished look. **Polymer clay requires baking according to the package direction. (Generally ~275 °F, depending on your brand of clay). You will bake after class. Parental help is necessary.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Creating the gift box takes time and patience, this project is not meant for beginners.
