Class Experience

In this ongoing class students will practice sculpting 3-dimensional shapes to make various animals. Each class will feature a different animal. We will be taking our time on each piece, so if you enjoy getting very detailed with your work then this is the class for you! There will be a live video stream showing students step by step how to make each item. Since these sculptures are made with polymer clay, parents or guardians can bake the sculptures for students after class so that they harden. This is a fun opportunity for students to experiment with color and sculpting. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to have fun! During class we will each share the progress on our sculptures to receive feedback.

A new animal will be introduced each week for sculpting.

Mar 3-7: pigeon (gray, black, white, green, purple, orange)
Mar 10-14: alpaca (brown, tan, white, black)
Mar 17-21: hammerhead shark (gray, white, black)

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Art and Design from University of South Carolina
I will be teaching a range of art classes for young artists that want to have fun and teen artists that are more serious about their artistic skills. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and a minor in art history, as well as 2.5 years of classical realism atelier training. I am a full time professional artist and I love to teach! I have been teaching children and adults for the past 5+ years. I believe that having as much artistic training as you can early on will benefit your professional career as an artist. When I'm not painting and teaching, you will find me outside in the mountains. I love to go hiking, camping, and skiing. You might even catch me with my easel outdoors!
