45 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
The long awaited Legend of Zelda : Tears of the Kingdom is coming out on Friday, May 12th and Nintendo Switch players couldn't be more excited! This class will bring together students that love to play this new game and allow them to share their progress, tips that have learned, and more in a weekly format. At each class, students will: Share their game progress, including any pictures or videos that they have taken over the past week. Share any tips that they have learned that might be helpful to other students. Ask for help on any part that they are finding difficult. This class does not include a group playing component, but students are welcome to bring their Switch and play while we are chatting. Since their is no required playing component, students are not required to own the game to attend class. Because this class is open to all types of learners and talking about a game can be very exciting for some students, there may be times that require me to cut off a student that is monopolizing the conversation. I ask that you talk to your student about that too, so that all students get a chance to share.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Westminster College
Hi! My name is Lauren, but my students call me "Best Teach". I graduated from Westminster College in 2004 with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I earned my Pennsylvania English as a Second Language Program Specialist K-12 certification. I moved to Shenandoah, Virginia to teach English as a Second Language in 2006. I taught over 40 students (K-12) at 4 different schools. In 2007, I moved to the traditional first grade classroom.
Since then, I have taught in many different capacities. I have taught baby sign language to parents, online for two years as an English as a Second Language teacher, and as a homeschool tutor. My most valuable teaching experience has come as a homeschool mom. I have been teaching my neurodivergent 15 year old son and neurotypical 12 year old daughter since the day they were born.
I bring a variety of classes to Outschool, because I like to pull from all of my interests and talents.
