Class Experience

While playing Among Us, students will be developing skills by playing one of the two roles, "impostor" and "crewmate".
As the impostor, the student will have the opportunity to improve their gaming strategy while simultaneously working on their storytelling abilities.
As the crew mate, students will work on their deductive reasoning and improve their social skills by working together.

The course will be a private game. A code (such as CMBQKF) will be provided to the students in order to start the game.

All of the settings will be monitored through my account and all of the language, discussion, and environment throughout the course will be age-appropriate.
In order to have a better experience, along with a device to join the zoom meeting, students should have a second device (such as a smartphone or tablet) to join and play Among Us. Also, I suggest that students should have the latest updated version of Among Us, have "North America" set as the region, and "Quick Chat only" set as the chat type to avoid any technical issues.

NOTE: We need a minimum of three students to have a class. The Among Us game minimum player requirement is four people. If we do not have three students enrolled in the class, I will have to cancel the class at least 24-hours in advance and suggest transferring/re-enrolling students to another time slot that has more students or works better for you and your learner. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

This ongoing format will allow students to drop in and out at any time. Students do not have to attend previous classes in order to join a later class date. The following is the schedule with the map that we will be playing on (This can be flexible, though. If several students are requesting a particular setting or map, we may take a vote on it and try out the students' suggestions):

WEEKLY SCHEDULE:

FRIDAYS:
4 PM PST

If you need a different time slot or do not see an upcoming class that your learner is wanting, please feel free to message me and I will do my best to accommodate.

Thank you!
Teacher Ari

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from San Jose State University
I have over five years of experience working with children—as a substitute teacher for K-12 students, working as an instructional assistant in Special Education, and providing behavioral therapy for children with autism. My wife and I have also been foster parents for six children and I believe that every child has great potential of being a success through their passions. I teach social club classes for Marvel and video game fans.

I have a Bachelor's in Sociology with a minor in Radio, Television, and Film, which included studying film history and writing. I have hands-on experience with filming videos and analyzing film elements (such as plot, setting, and structure). I have been a Marvel fan for over 15 years and enjoy having conversations and researching each Marvel project. In addition to Marvel, I love everything about Disney, from Pixar and Disney Plus to Disneyland. I also have a podcast that I love co-hosting with my wife!

As we study, discuss, and analyze the world of entertainment, I want to help and support everyone that comes into my class. I cannot wait to see y'all soon!
