In this class, students will learn writing skills and write a paragraph or more through fun learning with live animals including chickens, dogs, and a bunny. We will work on organization, adding details, sentence fluency, and voice. The students will write a creative story that includes an introduction with a setting and characters, a body with transition words and details, and a conclusion. I will introduce the live animals to help guide their writing and inspire their creativity. Join us in this engaging writing session!

Supply List
Students should bring lined paper and a pencil or they may use a computer program to type up their writing during the class. There will be a rough draft page provided to go along with the lesson.

Hello, I am Mrs. Pockett. I have been teaching preschool and elementary school for over fifteen years. I love to teach students using hands-on, engaging lessons that make students love to learn! I believe in teaching units that help students in all subject areas at their individual levels. Some of the classes that I will be offering include mini science lessons about solids, liquids, and gases. I will also be offering math with games lessons and phonics reading lessons about superheroes. One of my favorite things to do right now is make creative lessons with my five year old son and my seven year old daughter. We have a blast coming up with helpful, silly videos such as The Contraction Ninja, Animal Adjectives, and The Magician’s Double Addition. I know that all students can learn and I look forward to helping you find the class the meets the needs of your learner.
