In this ongoing Charlotte Mason inspired class, students will observe and draw an animal while listening to the "Burgess Animal Book" and narrating the chapter. Then, we will learn more about the animal and its animal classification.

One of my favorite authors to introduce children to the wonders of nature study is Thornton W. Burgess. In this ongoing Charlotte Mason inspired class, we will use "The Burgess Animal Book for Children" by Thornton W. Burgess to explore the world of animals. While some animals appear in multiple chapters, the chapters mostly stand alone. Learners are welcome to join the class at any time. Each class will follow a similar schedule: 1. The primary source for this class is "The Burgess Animal Book for Children." Learners are not required to have a copy of this book; however you may read it for free on Project Gutenberg at https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/2441. I will also show pictures of animals and sometimes show short videos of animals.
