“Learn to Read the Montessori Way!” is a class for children ages three to seven. For each age and skill level I will individualize each one on one class to fit the needs of your child. In this class we will follow the natural progression of reading that Dr. Maria Montessori set out for us. The lesson progression starts with extending your child’s vocabulary and moves along through lessons such as rhyming, alphabet principle, beginning sounds, letter sounds and games, word building, sentence building, and finally… reading independently. Your child, depending on age, will learn all of their letter sounds and be able to put them together to form words. Montessori promotes pairing learning to read with writing so as the child builds words and sentences they will also write! An older child will dive into sentence structure and grammar as well!

Learning Needs
I believe the Montessori approach is fit for every child, including children with unique learning needs. The Montessori method is founded on the ability to adapt to the child’s needs. I will provide individualized learning for each child.
Pre-Requisites
This class is a one on one class and each class will be individualized for the child’s current level of learning. No prerequisites are needed.
Supply List
Before each session Ms Kara will provide handouts, materials, and/or cards via messaging for the upcoming class. It will be noted whether these materials are optional or required on the class handout These materials typically need to be printed out and cut into individual pieces. OPTIONAL: If you have the resources, the following montessori materials are recommended and can be purchase on many platforms including amazon: NOT REQUIRED LOWERCASE Sandpaper Letters (cursive OR print) $25 - $50 LOWERCASE Movable Alphabet (cursive OR print) $30 - $70 I recommend a Moveable Alphabet set that comes with a lined mat
