Beginner Level
In this class, your child will learn to recognize the letters in the alphabet, along with the sounds that they make. By the end of the course your child should be able to recognize each letter, write each letter, and know the sound that they produce. In addition, your child may be able to read some CVC words. The class is taught in a fun and engaging way that includes movement, songs, video clips, and games. Your child should have paper and pencil nearby and there will always be optional practice sheets available to reinforce skills after the lesson.
Learning Goals
The student will be able to recognize all the letters of the alphabet along with the corresponding sound.
The student will be able to write each letter of the alphabet using proper pencil grip and line formation
Syllabus
16 Lessons
over 12 WeeksLesson 1:
Introduction to the Alphabet
Students will begin with a fun warm up, then we will dive right in to learning about 3 consonants and/or vowels each lesson. Students will learn the letter name, letter sound, and practice proper letter formation of the letters learned. There will also be story time, songs, and games to reinforce the new letters being taught. The first lesson will learn all about the consonants t, b, and f. There will be practice sheets available after each lesson to reinforce skills taught.

All about letters m and n
Students will begin with a fun warm up, then we will dive right in to learning about 2 consonants. Students will learn the letter name, letter sound, and practice proper letter formation of the letters learned. There will also be story time, songs, and games to reinforce the new letters being taught. This lesson will learn all about the consonants m and n. There will be practice sheets available after each lesson to reinforce skills taught.
Lesson 3:
All about letters i and u
Students will begin with a fun warm up, then we will dive right in to learning about the vowels i and u. Students will learn the letter name, letter sound, and practice proper letter formation of the letters learned. Students will also begin sounding out cvc words using the letters previously taught. There will also be story time, songs, and games to reinforce the new letters being taught. There will be practice sheets available after each lesson to reinforce skills taught.
Lesson 4:
All about letters c and o
Students will begin with a fun warm up, then we will dive right in to learning about the letters c and o. Students will learn the letter name, letter sound, and practice proper letter formation of the letters learned. Students will also begin sounding out cvc words using the letters previously taught. Learning Needs
This class is perfect as first exposure to phonemic awareness and beginning phonics lessons. Also, it uses the science of reading with a phonics approach to reading, perfect for learners with dyslexia and other learning disabilities.
