US Grade 5 - 8
In this course scholars will learn how to identify math operations and solve multi step equations. I will teach students all math operations as well as how to recognize them in equations and word problems. Order of Operations, Solving One and Two Step Equations, and Proportional Relationships will be covered in this course. Class Outline: Check Roll Intro of Class & Rules Do Now Vocabulary Lesson Group activity (Peer to Peer Learning activity) Session Review Outro of Class My teaching style will be more interactive learning, I prefer: I teach, We teach, and You learn. (I’m not the lecture students all session type of teacher) I will have students on a presentation to follow through the lesson but we’ll also do classwork on the whiteboard. Students will be called upon to read and state their understanding on certain math topics in class. Class Interactions: Presentation Slides Lecture Discussion Games Group Activity I've been teaching math in engaging and interactive methods for 5 years with great success. Though my approach is dynamic and engaging, the structure and detail of the lesson ensure that students are presented with knowledge in a way that cultivates mastery. My passion is student learning, and I honestly think that math can be learned in an enjoyable setting. I anticipate each student to bring a pencil, a printout of the guided notes (or blank paper if no guided notes are provided), and a calculating device to class.
