We will explore different geometric shapes and how to identify them. We will learn the names such as triangular pyramid, triangular prism, rectangular prism, and a cube. We will then make 3-D shapes using paper, glue, and additional supplies if desired. The class will be begin with a presentation to learn about the different shapes. We will then have a demonstration with step by step directions as a group to create a 3-D shape. We will begin by building a cube as a group. There will be four shape patterns provided to be printed before class begins so the learner is able to participate. Join me, I am looking forward to creating shapes with you! Teacher LuAnn
Learning Goals
The learning goal is to learn about shape names, their components, and then build a 3-D shape. We will also learn to build different shapes using paper with tape or glue. There are optional items to use to include construction paper, colored pencils, or markers if the learner would like to decorate them.

Parental Guidance
There is no violent content. If the learner has difficulty with scissors supervision may be needed.
Supply List
Patterns will be supplied before class begins. We will then cut out the pattern and learn to fold them into a 3-D shape. The supplies needed: Printed pattern Scissor to cut the shape Glue, glue stick or other adhesive such as tape to hold the shape together. Optional: Colored pencils or markers to personalize the shape.

Hello, my name is teacher LuAnn! My interests are very vast and holistic. I have my BS in Psychology and Elementary education. I have certifications in holistic nutrition, aromatherapy, and ariculotherapy. I am currently an online ESL teacher and an In.Form health coach. My most important accomplishment is that I home schooled my two children from grades 7 to graduation. My work experience includes teaching for over twenty years in different settings. I managed a program as a computer assisted instructor for five years in a middle school setting. This program blossomed into a large program to help more struggling students academically. In the last 15 years, I managed and directed crisis homes for children and adults with a wide range of challenges. I have spent many years helping individuals overcome mental and physical challenges. I see each person as unique. My strength is finding ways to develop tools that will improve ones daily life. I enjoy helping others develop coping skills to help make a dark day brighter. I do not see people as a one size fits all! My passions range from art, cooking, reading, math, and, natural health! I enjoy learning how things work. I am a hands on experiential learner which is the way I prefer to teach. I hope to see you in the classroom!
