Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 4
Beginner Level
What will be taught?
Students will explore essential math concepts—including geometry, fractions, equations, measurement, and data representation—through interactive and engaging activities in Minecraft. They will apply these concepts to real-world problem-solving scenarios while building structures and completing in-game challenges.

What topics will be covered?
-Geometry: Lines, angles, area, perimeter, 3D shapes, and symmetry.
-Fractions & Equations: Land division, comparing fractions, and using equations for stability.
-Measurement: Distance, speed, mass, weight, volume, and metric conversions.
-Data & Estimation: Graphing, rounding off, and recognizing patterns.
-Applied Math: Trade, time zones, and resource distribution.

How is the class structured?
Each class follows a structured format:

-Concept Introduction – Students begin with an explanation of the math topic using slides and real-world examples.
-Minecraft Exploration – The instructor demonstrates how the concept applies within Minecraft.
-Hands-on Activity – Learners design and build their own Minecraft projects, reinforcing the lesson.
-Discussion & Reflection – Students share their builds, discuss problem-solving strategies, and review key takeaways.

How will the class be taught?
The course is designed to be interactive and project-based, ensuring students actively engage with math concepts. By integrating math into Minecraft, learners experience concepts in a visual, hands-on manner that enhances understanding and retention.

What is the teaching style?
-Engaging & Interactive – Encouraging active participation through Minecraft-based activities.
-Hands-On & Experiential – Applying math principles through in-game building and problem-solving.
-Collaborative & Fun – Fostering teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking through structured challenges.

How much will learners interact with the instructor?
Students will have high levels of engagement through:
-Live Discussions – Direct interaction with the instructor to explore and clarify concepts.
-In-Game Challenges – Personalized feedback on Minecraft builds and activities.
-Games & Interactive Activities – Fun, math-based challenges designed to reinforce learning.

Slides & Video Clips – Visual aids for concept explanation.

Q&A & Troubleshooting – Real-time assistance to help students apply math in Minecraft effectively.

Learning Goals

Apply Math in Real-World Builds – Use geometry, fractions, and equations in Minecraft projects.
Boost Problem-Solving Skills – Develop logic and critical thinking through hands-on challenges.
