Class Experience
During this one hour, one time class, students will learn about the Early people of the Americas and we will discuss the how and why they came here. While creating a 3D map of the Americas we will discuss the Land Bridge Theories and what life was like during the last Ice Age. Students will be given step by step instructions of how to construct their 3D maps. Background knowledge about the Ice Age is helpful but not a requirement. Students will be informally evaluated for understanding of...
I love teaching history using 3D maps because it makes history come alive! My past students loved that the maps were 3D and they could move the parts.
Students will need to print out the posted documents (Map), colored pencils, markers, crayons, tape/glue, scissors, and cardstock or cardboard to glue the map onto to make it sturdy.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
