Class Experience

In this four week flex class course for younger learners, students will be introduced to the basics of Korean! Students will learn common Korean phrases, how to introduce themselves, colors, animals, numbers, and the basics of the Korean alphabet (Hangul)! The class will be very fun and easy going, and will encourage a love of the language! We will practice introducing ourselves, and practice common phrases that are necessary for conversation in Korean- let's have fun and learn Korean! This class is the flex version of "Korean Introduction for Beginners Part 1" that I offer on Outschool. This class will be very interactive as students will post videos/voice recordings of them speaking in Korean, post pictures of their writing, and we will have a section for students to practice conversing one another in Korean! Each week I will post a 25 minute video explaining the concepts below, then I will post discussion questions, challenge activities, or ask students to share examples of their work daily in the classroom. Here is a rough outline of each class:

Week 1: 25 minute video teaching "What is this?" Learning how to ask what something is and responding with the verb "to be". Students will post an audio or video recording of themselves speaking several of the sentences from this class, and I will post a game to the classroom.

Week 2: 25 minute video teaching animals, and "I like" Learning how to say "I like fish" and "I do not like spiders", etc. We will have a discussion in the classroom about our favorite animals, and we will have an animal quiz game!

Week 3: 25 minute video teaching Colors and Numbers. Learning common Korean colors and how to use them in a complete sentence. We will also learn the native Korean numbers, and how to say how old we are. Students will post an audio or video recording of themselves saying how old they are, and several sentences from this week's lesson. We will also have a discussion in class about our favorite colors, and students will share an example of some of their work throughout this course.

Week 4: 25 minute video teaching self-introduction and Hangul. We will have a self introduction discussion in the classroom, students will post an audio/video recording introducing themselves to the class, and I will post a discussion question to the class.
