Description

Class Experience

If you have a kid who is always playing around on the piano, this class is for them!  Students will learn the basics of piano, including reading rhythms, the name of the piano keys, finger numbers and dexterity, and opposites in music(high/low, fast/slow).  Kiddykeys is full of songs to help us remember our new found musical knowledge, stories and games that help emphasize musical content, and worksheets for in class and at home practice.  Class will begin with time for students to socialize...

Students will learn:
1. Quarter, half, and whole notes
2.  Finger numbers for the piano
3.  The musical alphabet
4.  The letters of the piano keys
5.  Musical Opposites(high/low, fast/slow)
6.  Musical vocabulary

There will be no assigned homework for this class but students may wish to review the musical terms and knowledge we learn between classes.

*Something to shake(egg shaker, maraca, tupperware with rice)
*Something to click together(drumsticks, wooden spoons)
*Piano-nice to have but not a necessity

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
