Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Intermediate Level
If your learner enjoyed my Keyboarding for beginners class (or another class in which YOUR LEARNER HAS ALREADY LEARNED FINGER PLACEMENT and is beginning to memorize the keyboard), your learner will love this class! How do I know? Because I actually loved creating it! Learners will have MORE fun, enjoy more ENJOYABLE Nearpod activity slides, and explore new THEMES each week!

This is an interactive FLEX course which includes video/audio instruction within the NEARPOD SLIDES. This 5-week course will enforce advanced keyboarding speed and skills. I also have this class available in a 1-week condensed "boot camp" style class for holiday weeks (weekly lessons are uploaded to the classroom over a week long period, instead of a 5-week period).

Benefits of combining a FLEX format with Nearpod:
*type the drills at your own pace
*parents and teachers can monitor activity slides/drills
*can break the lesson up as you see fit (doesn't have to be done all in one sitting - just start where you left off in Nearpod)

This is a brand new level-2 course but you can see the 5-STAR REVIEWS on my level-1 keyboarding classes!

Each Monday you will receive a post from me in the Outschool classroom which will contain links to that week's material. This will include a set of interactive slides containing audio instruction, drills, and games (through nearpod.com). The drills will be broken up with various activities such as memory games, virtual field trips, Time to Climb (a fun timed quiz), drag-and-drop activities, and drawing slides within Nearpod. We will also play more advanced games!

My one-minute speed test result is 72 words per minute and I have had many jobs/businesses which require a lot of typing. I took a one-semester typing class in high school (I learned on a typewriter!), and avidly used a word processor in college (my friends would often ask me to type their term papers). My mom went to secretarial school in the 60's and she types 90 words per minute! After I developed this course she went through it and gave me some great advice on changes I could make to really embed these skills into learners minds for life! So this course is "expert-approved" and very thorough!
