Are you ready to discover an Awesome African-American women? In this class, students will draw an awesome woman as a way to celebrate Black History. Black History Month is every February in the USA, but Black History should also be celebrated throughout the year. By looking at our history, we create a time to celebrate, appreciate and understand the contributions of African-Americans in society. Students will strengthen their appreciation and understanding of contributions made by Black America. By drawing the looks inspired by Awesome African-American Women, students will enhance their creativity and artistic skills.
I have celebrated Black History Month all my life; thus, I am very aware of the celebration and the African-Americans who are regarded as influential people in the Black community. In addition, I have a BA in Sociology from UCLA in Los Angeles. I also have a Graduate Certificate in Gender Studies from USC in Los Angeles. With a combination of real life experiences and cultural studies in college, I am eager to share the beauty of my diverse community through drawing of my original character, Travel Girl .
Homework Offered
1.) Color and post the drawing to the classroom 2.) Complete the "Travel Girl's Diary" worksheet and write about "a day in the life" of their Travel Girl.Assessments Offered
