Want to develop your anime drawing skills?

Want to impress your friends, grow in confidence, and make anime art that you're proud of?

Then join this weekly anime art class, where I teach you new anime drawing techniques every single week. We'll cover everything from faces to clothes to different types of characters. Drop in any week or stay for multiple--you'll learn a new technique and make great art every single week.

Both beginners and advanced artists alike are welcome!

Students will learn how to draw each subject from start to finish, tips on how to take the styles in their own directions, and how to combine what we learn (in each lesson and together) into their own character designs. Exploring the directions mangaka and anime artists take for creating eye-catching characters will guide students into a stronger creative mindset when drawing existing or original anime characters and designs.

You'll even develop your own unique take on the anime styles we explore.

This class is continuous and welcomes new learners every single week. You can join at any point and not miss a beat. You can drop in for just a week or stay as long as you'd like. Many learners join and stay for 20, 30, 40 weeks or more! Lessons exist as stand-alone topics, but the longer you stay, the more techniques you'll learn, and the more your skills will grow.

Here are examples of lesson topics that you may find in this class:

Anime Eyes
Hair and Hairstyles
Head Angles
Expressions
Hands
Feet and Shoes
Folds and Clothes
Chibis
Flowing hair
Action poses
Capes and Long Fabric Folds
Magical Anime Character Designs
2-Point Perspective Anime Backgrounds

NOTE: Classes are often adjusted to cater to the needs and interests of enrolled learners, so feel free to message us for any clarifications or to know the topic of upcoming lessons.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
----------------------------
💪 KAITLYN SYDELLE, ANIME COMIC ARTIST 💪: With a B.F.A. in Graphic Design with an emphasis in Illustration from CSU Fresno, I am an experienced, award winning comic artist with several self-published titles. I have been professionally teaching comics and anime themed classes to artists of all ages since 2013, from 1-on-1 elementary sessions to college-level classrooms. I’m very passionate about everyone experiencing the confident joy of putting your ideas onto paper, and feeling your world come to life. I believe there is no such thing as a “bad” art style, and that anyone can draw given the chance. In my classes, I help guide students to develop the styles they would enjoy practicing, honing their own signature style, or having space to try a new technique! Some of my favorite hobbies outside of art are studying foreign languages and martial arts to keep my brain and body active.

🎬 MAGGIE WEHLER, PROFESSIONAL ANIMATOR AND ILLUSTRATOR: Maggie Wehler is a freelance animator and illustrator who has worked on a multitude of indie video games and indie animation projects! As she loved video games and cartoons as a child, she began drawing digitally in middle school and hasn’t stopped since! Taking that passion, she took online classes through the Academy of Art University in highschool and then pursued a degree in Film & Animation at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she also completed a minor in Game Design. After college, Maggie attended the Disney College Program and worked at the Walt Disney World Parks in Florida while attending seminar classes with Disney artists and designers! She also makes freelance animated videos for the Youtube channel Psych2Go, which has over 11 million subscribers! Maggie firmly believes that everyone deserves to have a space to create, all art forms are valid, and any art fundamentals can be learned through drawing characters you love to draw! Other than drawing, Maggie enjoys playing video games like Splatoon and Monster Hunter, along with watching movies, anime and reading graphic novels.

💪 RJ STERLING, ILLUSTRATOR AND EDUCATOR
RJ Sterling is a certified visual arts educator and freelance illustrator who has self published 8 comics and completed a variety of artwork for clients from comics and character designs to portraits, tattoo designs and logos. RJ Sterling discovered his passion for drawing when he first opened the pages of Marvel and DC Comics. RJ learned to draw by studying the visual styles he saw in his favorite comic books. His favorite characters to draw are Spiderman and Batman. To develop his technical skills, RJ pursued illustration and comic design at the Maryland Institute College of Art. He received his BFA in Illustration and a year later his MFA in Art Education. As a teacher, RJ finds joy in aiding the discovery of art-making and visual thinking with his students. Students learn not only how to draw in his classes, but also how to creatively problem-solve, communicate, and think. As an illustrator, RJ loves working with people to bring their wildest ideas to life. In the time RJ is not drawing or teaching, he is playing his Playstation 5, reading books or enjoying time with his wife Annie.
