Class Experience

Students will learn the joy of listening to a story. I will model how a reader should hear/experience the words they read from a page. They will also learn their abilities to think like a good reader during a reading experience by using strategies that I will demonstrate during the story.
I am a certified elementary school teacher who has been reading aloud to students, particularly 3rd and 4th graders, for over 25 years. I have repeatedly used Good Reader strategies from The CAFE Book: Engaging All Students in Daily Literacy Assessment & Instruction Book by Gail Boushey and Joan Moser to help my students develop and enhance their reading skills with read alouds in a mixed ability whole group setting . I have seen proof of tremendous enjoyment and growth from reluctant readers to the most advanced readers in my class by teaching Good Reader strategies in this way.
NO homework! Feel free to practice reading aloud your choice of story to someone at home, a pet, a stuffed animal or yourself! Practice your Good Reader Strategies while you read. Sign up for one of my future Multi-Day Classes to learn more about Good Reader Strategies.
