Introduction to Principles of Vocal Music (Singing 101)
In this one-time class, I will teach the foundational singing skills (e.g., developing voice tone, identifying vocal range and developing singing techniques).

Weekly Assessments will be in the form of an "Audition Submission". The students will record themselves mastering the skill of the week on video. The students will be graded on how well they attempt to master the skill as well as the creativity they add to the audition. The auditions will be due at the end of the week as take home assignments. They are required for all students in order to identify how well they have mastered the vocal skill and techniques of the week.Class Experience
Beginner Level
1. The students will be taught how to identify their voice type, how to develop their tone and how to develop additional singing techniques. 2. We will cover singing from the diaphragm, developing our head voice and training our ears to sing on key. 3. Our class is structured by the lesson designed to be easy to follow. 4. I will teach using multiple visual resources and efficient alternatives to achieve the vocal music lesson of the week. 5. My teaching style is call and response. I like to give the students a few examples of how to achieve success, then I like to see how the students are able to master the skill. 6. The students will be able to interact with me at their convenience. I will be watching to see how the students master the vocal music skills each week. Additionally, I will offer positive feedback that will help the students become better vocalists. I will provide additional video links, vocal exercises for the students to review during the week to develop their music ears.
Learning Goals
Students will learn their vocal classification, how to sing by utilizing their pitch and staying within their range, students will also learn how to master their music ears and sing on key.

Supply List
A notebook to take notes, a cell-phone to record vocal audio, internet access and a laptop. I will go into further detail in the syllabus for the course.
