This is part 2 of Introduction to Japanese Conversations 2A. *PLEASE TAKE JAPANESE CONVERSATIONS 2A BEFORE ENROLLING INTO THIS CLASS* Here we will go more into depth to help improve conversation skills, build on grammar, and focus on comprehension. Session 1: Review lesson plans 1-3 from prior class -Introduce more grammar -Teach past tense, te form, and introduce Ga Arimasu/ imasu -Introduce more particles -Learn related vocabulary -Practice Session 2: Review lesson 1 -Learn about te form and it's rules -Learn how to use te form in sentences -Vocabulary/ Grammar -Practice Session 3: Review lesson 2 -Introduce Potential form -learn the rules for potential form -Vocabulary and grammar -Practice Session 4: -Review all prior sessions -Have students ask questions to clarify material they may not understand -Kahoot
Learning Goals
Learning conversation aims to improve students' speaking and listening abilities by having them learn basic grammar and by increasing their vocabulary. The class will be focused on 4 main points which include the following:
Dialogue:
By practicing natural expressions and "aizuchi" (responses that make conversations go smoothly) students will be able to understand how sentences are connected and how some phrases are shortened in daily conversations.
Vocabulary:
Words found in the vocabulary list will appear frequently in each lesson, encouraging students to learn little by little each day.
Grammar:
Grammar will be broken down into easy-to-understand explanations so that the student studying can easily follow along on their own.
Practice:
The intent is to enable the students to gain a grasp of Japanese naturally by completing each practice.

Students will receive a typed lesson plan prior to the day of class. Students will also receive review and practice sheets.

I am mixed Japanese and have been studying Japanese since I was in middle school. I started Japanese in eight grade and continued to study Japanese until my junior year of college. While I was in high school I taught as a Japanese teaching assistant for 4 years. I also did private tutoring for the Japanese language. I then continued on to teach 2 years of Japanese as a teaching assistant at my community college. I now work as a lead preschool teacher in a school that houses many young Japanese students. Here I speak a lot of Japanese and English to help the students develop a better foundation in the Japanese language.
